The best aspects of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200

Summary – The NS 200 has been on sale since 2012. It still is pretty popular. Why? Read on to learn more.

The NS 200 was Bajaj’s first true-bred street sport bike. The motorcycle’s engine and design were developed with the help of KTM. The engine, chassis and design of the bike were unique. And they were never seen in any other bike from Bajaj before 2012.

Fast forward to 2023, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is now offered in two trims. The base trim costs Rs. 1, 67,283. The bike price in India for the top trim is Rs. 1, 71,712. The bike entails six colour schemes.

The bike got some subtle updates from Bajaj this year. For instance, the front wheel is now paired with a USD suspension. The bike used to come with single-channel ABS. Now, a dual-channel ABS version is also available. The bike’s instrument cluster also received fresh programming. The instrument cluster can now show the average fuel economy. On top of this, the instrument cluster can also show the gear position.

The bike continues to boast –

  • Its single-pod headlight with twin DRLs

  • A headlight cowl with matching graphics.

  • A muscular fuel tank entailing a 3D logo as well as tank shrouds

  • Split-seats

  • Two-piece pillion grab rail

  • The oh-so-appealing underbelly exhaust and

  • 17-inch alloy wheels.

The engine on the bike is the same 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit. The engine retained the four valves + three spark plugs design. The engine is paired with the same six-speed gearbox. The power and torque outputs remain the same. The peak power output of the engine is 24.1 bhp (unlocked at 9,750 rpm). The peak torque output of the engine is 18.7Nm (unlocked at 8,000 rpm). The engine is also made OBD2-ready by equipping it with all the pertinent hardware. The NS200's top speed is electronically limited to 125 KMPH.

Take a test ride of the bike for a better understanding of what it has to offer!
